Tail-end portfolios

A fund’s final few investments can take a disproportionate amount of time, cost and attention. We consider acquiring residual portfolios where a negotiated exit makes economic sense for both sides.

Discuss your holdings

Close the portfolio. Open the next chapter.

This may be relevant if you are considering:

  • A fund approaching the end of its term or another extension
  • A small number of holdings with uncertain exit timelines
  • Recurring costs that are material relative to remaining value
  • A manager looking to return capital and refocus on newer funds

How we approach it

We start with a high-level view of the portfolio, your objectives and the expected transfer process. If there is a potential fit, we agree confidentiality arrangements, review the underlying positions and discuss a possible acquisition. A full portfolio or a selected group of holdings may be considered.

We consider opportunities individually. An initial enquiry is exploratory; any acquisition depends on diligence, agreed terms and the feasibility of completing the transfer.

Other situations we consider

Let’s make room for what’s next.

A discreet conversation with a potential buyer. A high-level overview is all we need to begin.
